Illinois U-Pick country is the southern apple belt around Calhoun County and the Chicago suburbs' fall-festival agritourism cluster. Eckert's Belleville Farm outside St. Louis is the state's largest signature destination — seventh-generation orchard with strawberries (May–June), peaches (July–August), apples (September–October), and a 100-acre pumpkin patch with festivals every October weekend. Heinz Orchard in Green Oaks and Goebbert's in Pingree Grove anchor the Chicago suburban scene. Plan around the Long Grove Apple Fest and Eckert's Apple Festival in October. Best paired with St. Louis (Eckert's is 25 minutes south) or Chicago architectural-tour weekends.
